If I need to take pictures on demand, I tend to freeze up completely. As soon as someone slaps a deadline on me and I have to work something out on short notice I'm completely lost. Last Monday we were told that we had a week to finish three technical assignments (aperture, shutterspeed and panning) and since the week was packed I only had the weekend left to get these done. For the panning shot we had to photograph a car passing by. You know: car as much in focus as possible and the background streaked because of the panning.
So, Saturday afternoon I finally have a free moment to head outside and get it over with. No dice, it was pouring outside. Instead Joke suggested to just stay inside and try the experiment in a different way. No one said that it had to be a real car, so she got a little toy car, attached a string to it, put a newspaper on the floor and we ended up with the image above :). Not exactly a prize winner, but given the circumstances I'm extremely happy with the end result.
