Time to slip in another shot taken with the Panasonic. Taken while actually sitting on the toilet myself... uhm, maybe that's too much information. Anyway, this little fella, Kleine Robbe, is a character from a comic book series here in Belgium. Again I'm quite impressed with the image stabilisation in this camera (shutterspeed of 1/15 and a little added sharpening in Lightroom). As far as lighting is concerned there's a single spot light hanging above the toy shining straight down which creates the harsh shadows. The yellow binder under the toy is obviously responsible for the yellow color cast on parts of the image.
Little tip: if you have a big SLR camera, try and also get your hands on a small digital compact. I bought the Panasonic LX2 just to be able to carry a camera with me wherever I go. Picture quality might not always be on par with the bigger SLR, but there's going to be times when you'll be happy you could take a picture, regardless of the camera you used.

Lovely capture. Great colours composition and idea.
I agree, the camera doesn't matter. What counts is the eye of the person holding it :) A happy new year to you.
