I really hate overexplaining a photo or giving it some kind of deeper meaning than it should have, but I'd like to make an exception in this case. I believe it's a nice example of how our industry (in the background you can see the harbor of Seabruges, Belgium) is eating away at the last stretches of nature we have left. I initially shot the photo because I liked the loneliness the person in the frame conveyed walking there all by himself through the dunes. I believe the environmental 'message' in the shot is stronger though.

It's a great shot even without the explanation. A nice contrast between a calm walk on the beach and the ever-present industry in the background. I like it.

I wonder what the ratio is of people who enjoy working in an industrial environment and people who enjoy exploring nature. I suspect the ratio does not tie in with the reality forming around us. I guess thats whyn they say Capitalism is schizophrenic.

Our biggest environmental issue is Walmart, they build these massive stores, normally in the city but now they want country land as well. The issue in Canada isn't as pressing landwise as it would be in Belgium, Canada is a massive country. But it still is bothersome.
